Therapeutic approach and applications in yoga
with Carina Raisman, B.Sc, Yoga Therapist, E-RYT500, ANQ, RITMA
Deepening your skills in anatomy and physiology allows both yoga teachers and practitioners to better respond to the inherent needs of the body. Being more aware of how it functions properly invites deeper self-listening and a more sensitive quality of attention that promotes quality of life, health, and longevity. In this training, you will be able to compare the determinants of health and the protocols that can restore balance, if necessary, on the mat and in everyday life. Using the skills developed in therapeutic yoga, you will be able to better support your students, provide relevant adjustments to pain or pathology, and, if necessary, address the imbalances and limitations specific to individuals who require it through a clear therapeutic intervention protocol.
Case studies, analysis, synthesis and understanding of the body will lead to the application of concrete tools in the face of postural discomfort or physical and mental health problems.
Finally, beyond limitation and illness, providing others with insight and solutions regarding optimal body maintenance and a return to health will depend on the teaching therapist's ability to nourish the individual's conscious relationship with themselves from a holistic and global perspective.
The human body is a miracle of engineering. Understanding and harnessing the determinants of health can help increase health and longevity.

Become an accredited Yoga Therapist.
This training provides the opportunity for in-depth case studies, analysis through synthesis and understanding of all body types and health challenges in relation to the specific practice of Yogatherapy. Through elaborate case studies, teaching, discussions, practices and self-analysis, this course will allow the practitioner to develop diversified intervention protocols that complement other therapeutic approaches used in global health. Finally, the training will provide the therapist with the concrete means and tools to better understand frequently encountered pathologies and dysfunctions, as well as the needs and specificities of a clientele whose issues are related to post-traumatic stress in order to ensure, in this regard, a sensitive and informed intervention.
The various specialists involved, from the medical field and with solid experience in clinical intervention, will discuss how to put into practice the helping relationship and the techniques likely to be suitable for sensitive groups exposed to trauma issues (victims of physical or psychological abuse, police officers, professions at high risk of chronic stress, etc.)
A synthesis of the physical and psychological means of intervention addressed in yoga therapy will finally invite the yoga therapist to a global and inclusive approach to health. The latter invites the yoga therapist to maintain a 360 view of health, where the relationship with oneself as well as with the other engages mindfulness, self-compassion and non-violent communication likely to create a rich and revealing mutual relationship within the support.
Weekend 1: Clinical Therapeutic Applications (20h)
March 20-22
- Learn how to prepare: from booking the appointment to developing the approach, tools, tips, and clear process to use to guide your client through the entire intervention process (before, during, and after the appointment).
Weekend 2: Case Study & Classic Pathologies (20h)
May 1-3
- Develop your understanding of the most common pathologies and the skills needed to support health in response to them. Whatever the issue, develop your toolbox so you can accommodate all types of individuals and adapt your approach to the specific needs of each situation/scenario, both physical and psychological.
Weekend 3: Case Studies, Classic Pathologies & Specific Applications (8 p.m.)
June 5-7
- Our presence and experience set the tone to welcome and support the other person in the encounter. Explore and integrate nonviolent communication (NVC), empathic listening, and meditation to follow a guideline that can guide your client, while providing the space necessary for what needs to emerge, as well as the opportunity to adapt as needed.
- Apply postural, behavioral, and emotional reeducation to yourself, through journaling, mindful listening, and self-compassion, so you can support and guide others with a well-integrated presence.
