The Art of Sequencing + FlexAbility

With international guest Rebecca Hannah , Senior Teacher, ERYT500

Training held in English.

Vinyasa and its teachings currently constitute the most developed and refined form of suggested postural sequences in yoga. Requiring technical mastery, integration of rhythm and intelligence of the proposed sequences, the creativity suggested by the style is matched only by the finesse of its transitions and the often artistic and even inspired expression of the poses themselves.

Drawing on yoga, dance, contortion, floorwork, and Thai massage, this unique training approaches flexibility—and the strength it requires—as the engine of freedom and rhythm. It blends theory and practice, powerful exercises, and elegant transitions to build a solid foundation for mobility and its understanding. It provides tools you can use both short- and long-term, in your groups and private sessions.

A true medium for artistic and technical expression, this training will allow you to deploy your aptitude for movement like never before and infuse your teaching with a new freedom.

Becoming a flow architect: From free expression of postures to inspired transitions.

Key learning points

Document Program Plus

Immerse yourself in an ultra-inspiring experience where flexibility, fluidity, and creativity will support the exponential growth of your teaching skills. Two modules expertly developed by an internationally recognized trainer will allow you to completely refine your teaching techniques, as well as your way of moving.

Part 1: The Art of Flex-Ability ™️ [25h]

This module will fascinate you and will permanently transform your relationship with movement. Much more than a stretching exercise, this first part of the course is a conscious exploration of mobility, allowing you to take your flow to a whole new level.

Teachers, dancers, coaches, or those interested in developing greater ease within the sequences will be able to integrate flexibility in a functional, inspiring, and body-appropriate way. An inclusive (appropriate to all levels), intelligent, and sustainable vision of mobility will be experienced.

Part 2: The art of Sequencing [25h]

Learn how to create creative, controlled and stimulating sequences.

Our approach to practice often reflects our approach to life. By focusing so much on a goal, we sometimes forget the joy and presence in the process. The frenetic pace of modern life has thus influenced the development of popular yoga styles today. Vinyasa often emphasizes the speed of the sequence, to the point of losing the quality of movement. In this module, the focus will be on transitions, and how they can become a true medium for creative expression.

Building on the foundations of Part 1 (The Art of Flex-Ability™), we'll explore different stylistic forms: patterns, techniques, and transitions inspired by yoga, contortion, and contemporary floorwork. Using these tools, we'll see how yoga postures can be approached in multiple ways, creating graceful, artistic, meaningful, and intelligent sequences.

  • Day 1 – Spine Undulations : Exploring cobra, camel, and wheel poses, as well as transitions between these poses (e.g., cobra to wheel, camel to wheel, back drops, and wheel circles).
  • Day 2 – Slides and Circles : Work on the front split, the side split, the compass pose and variations of the bird of paradise.
  • Day 3 – Arm twists and balances : crow, flying splits, dragonfly variations. Also explores shoulder raises and rolls from the candle and back chakrasana, and their adaptations to poses such as downward dog, cobra, pigeon, fallen angel, and chest stand.

The afternoon sessions will aim to deconstruct the morning flow and offer tools and techniques to enrich your creativity in yoga practice, including:

  • Games, improvisation and storytelling based on stimuli such as poems, song lyrics, fictional stories/characters or real experiences.
  • How to choreograph movement to music: learning to read and interpret the story of a piece of music and how to associate it with movement.
  • How to adapt a flow (“level up” and “level down”): transform the same sequence according to different levels and contexts, whether for group lessons or personal practice.

Prerequisites : socks suitable for sliding and a long-sleeved top to protect the shoulders.

All levels are welcome. Numerous adjustments and variations will allow all bodies and participants to progress with ease and enjoyment!
