Rocio Machorro
For Rocio J. Machorro, movement is life. Since childhood, she has been very active. Climbing trees, running, swimming, and jumping simply make her happy. She has 8 years of experience in a contemporary dance troupe and more than 10 years of internal (Tai Chi-Qi Gong) and external (Kung fu) martial arts. Her love of movement and her desire to improve her health, particularly that of her back, naturally led her to explore yoga through postures, breathing, and meditation.
She completed her Ashtanga yoga teacher training under the supervision of Matéo Madani and was recognized as a certified teacher in 2002. A second certification would follow in Pilates yoga in 2008. Her extensive teaching experience of over 17 years and her methodical way of experiencing and understanding asana make her an exceptional teacher. She knows how to motivate her students to learn and listen to themselves, to accept themselves. She encourages them to respect their own pace, likes to make corrections, and give theoretical, technical, and philosophical explanations with precision and rigor. The practice she offers is stimulating, deep, gentle, and vigorous.
